When hosting a wedding at your country club or resort, it’s of the utmost importance that you and your facility are prepared for the occasion. The wedding party chose your country club or resort with the expectations that the event goes according to plan, and the pressure will be on you to deliver. To avoid forgetting essential preparations, ask yourself these questions:
Do You Have Enough Staff?
When the wedding party books your country club or resort for their wedding, you need to make sure that you will have plenty of staff members available to assist every guest—including those not a part of the event
Be sure you have enough staff at the front desk to assist with check in and guest questions, bell hops to help all guests with luggage, and a maid service to maintain a properly cleaned facility. In addition, be sure you have enough staff working the event itself such as chefs, wait staff, and bartenders.
Have All Staff Been Briefed?
Remember to keep all of your staff members on the same page so they can be prepared for any unforeseen circumstances before, during, and after the event. For example, a plan for quickly supplying more drinks to the party if they run out. Inform your staff of:
- What event is being held
- The names of the bride and groom
- Where the event will be held in the country club or resort
- What each staff member should be doing
It’s a good idea to inform your staff of the wedding plans well in advance so they’re prepared. Go over the routine the night before and the day of to make sure everyone is on the same page. Be sure to plan for unexpected absences in staff in case of illness or emergencies.
Are the Event Rooms Prepared?
Make sure the area in which the wedding will be taking place is ready to go well in advance. Both you and the wedding party don’t want to have the rooms half prepared or prepared last minute—that will result in sloppy work. Perfection takes time. The wedding party will appreciate that you took the time to decorate to a high standard and made sure everything was perfect and beautiful. So, be sure to make sure all loose ends are tied up well before the wedding party arrives.
Are Your Other Guests Being Tended To?
While you need to take care of the wedding party, you also need to make sure your other guests are being cared for. That means that even if the bridal party isn’t using an area, like the fitness center, it shouldn’t be neglected. Other guests will want to use it and don’t want to find it in disarray because your staff is only taking care of the wedding party.
Maintaining all amenities around your facility like the fitness center ensures the satisfaction of all guests. Properly taking care of other guests during a big event will be in your favor, as they’ll spread word of your consideration for all guests.
